Regional Project Manager – Southeast United States

Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Regional Project Manager to oversee underground utility construction projects throughout the Southeast United States. This position is responsible for managing multiple projects and field teams involving water, sewer, storm drain, dry utility, and infrastructure construction while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to client specifications.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, extensive underground utility construction knowledge, experience managing large-scale civil projects, and the ability to coordinate crews, subcontractors, municipalities, and clients across multiple states and jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple underground utility construction projects across the Southeast region 
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, manpower, equipment allocation, and production goals 
  • Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and clients 
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards, OSHA regulations, utility specifications, and local municipality requirements 
  • Review contracts, plans, specifications, and change orders 
  • Track project costs, billing, forecasting, and profitability 
  • Lead project meetings and provide progress updates to ownership and clients 
  • Assist with estimating, procurement, and project startup planning 
  • Resolve field issues, scheduling conflicts, and operational challenges quickly and professionally 
  • Ensure quality control standards are maintained throughout all phases of construction 
  • Travel regularly throughout the Southeast United States to visit active projects and support field operations 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with municipalities, general contractors, developers, and utility providers 
  • Mentor and support field leadership and project coordination staff 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in underground utility construction project management 
  • Strong background in water, sewer, storm drain, and civil infrastructure projects 
  • Experience managing projects in multiple states and municipalities preferred 
  • Ability to read and interpret civil plans, utility profiles, specifications, and contracts 
  • Knowledge of DOT, municipal, and utility authority requirements 
  • Strong scheduling and budgeting experience 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, project management software, and construction reporting systems 
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills 
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to travel extensively 
  • OSHA certification preferred 
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

  • Utility relocation and infrastructure upgrades 
  • Emergency utility restoration 
  • Large-scale commercial and municipal utility projects 
  • Managing self-perform crews and subcontractors 
  • Multi-project regional oversight
